Seattle Bike and Pike
February 24th, 2018

To be held at R+E Cycles
5627 University Way NE, Seattle
Saturday, February 24th 10am - 5pm

Admission is FREE!

Come join us for corn dogs, coffee, beer, bicycles, and a chance to converse one-on-one with some of The Northwest's cycling gurus at The Seattle Bike and Pike Expo of 2018.

That's Right!
I said Corn Dogs!

We'll have Tofu and Regular

At R+E Cycles, we love Seattle, and the small companies that actually produce their products here. In October 2008, I asked our friends Charles and Rose Ann at Pike Brewing Company in Downtown Seattle if they would like to put on an event here in Seattle with other Seattle based entrepreneurs (and personalities) and they were just as excited about it as we were.

Space Needle Graphic

The flavor of Seattle Small Business is unique, and sometimes gets diluted when an event gets overwhelmed with big firms that have unlimited advertising budgets. We thought it would be great to put on a smaller event that showcased unique Seattle companies and their products, while at the same time raise money for a local charity.

Over the last eight years, the Bike and Pike has been a great success! We've raised over $36,769 for Food Lifeline here in Seattle, and had lots of fun doing it. That's almost 150,000 meals!

Want to go to an event this February that's bicycle oriented and highly focused on Seattle based companies? The 2018 Seattle Bike and Pike Expo is for you! Here's some of what's lined up:

Silent Online Auction to benefit Food Lifeline

All the local vendors attending have donated excellent items for the Silent Auction or the drawing. It's all for a great cause, and you get a chance to own some exceptional Seattle Made stuff! 100% of the proceeds from this auction will go directly to Food Lifeline here in Seattle.

You've got no excuse not to bid for these great items. You can bid even if you are not attending! You can bid even if you're not in Seattle! You can bid online right from this link. Being made here in the Seattle area, they know what rain is, and how to keep it off of your important stuff. Come visit them at Bike and Pike and while you're at it, bid on one of their very generous donations to our charity auction.

100% of the money raised will be donated to Foodlifeline.

Telaio Clothing
will be introducing you to the world of wool. Telaio wool bicycle clothing is the real thing: thought-up, patterned, and constructed with integrity in a small shop in Seattle. Wool insulates, repels water, wicks, breathes, and is naturally anti-bacterial. A refined yet utilitarian aesthetic means that you can wear Telaio clothing anywhere and everyday, and look good both on and off your bicycle. Come visit Katherine (Telaio is a one woman shop), and find out more about this unique, and wonderful custom product from Seattle. Also, remember to bid on a new pair of wool pants that Telaio was generous enough to donate for the charity auction.

100% of the money raised will be donated to Foodlifeline.

Herkimer Coffee Roasting Co.
will be serving up FREE samples of their exceptional coffee. Come grab some of this exceptional coffee that's brewed right here in Seattle (just like Pike beer and Rodriguez Bicycles).

Author and Cycling personality Bill Thorness
will also be in attendance. Bill is the author of Biking Puget Sound, and Cycling the Pacific Coast, as well as a long time friend of R+E Cycles. He's been cycling in Seattle and the Puget Sound region since the late 1980s, and in the last ten years all along the coast, from Vancouver, B.C. to the Mexico border. Visit him at the 2018 Bike and Pike and ask him about his adventures! Especially if you may be planning some of your own travels. Bill is also donating a signed copy of his book for charity in our online auction. Be sure to bid generously.

The Evergreen Tandem Club
Thinking about one in your future? Members of our local tandem club, ETC, will be on hand all day to answer your tandem questions, tell you why they love tandeming, provide you with details about their upcoming "Tandem 101" class for those who have never ridden a tandem before, and describe upcoming club rides.

Meet Kristina Wayte, owner of
Sketchy Trails Art in Seattle. Kristina is a Seattle based concept artist and illustrator. She uses her traditional drawing skills and riding experiences to create brush pen illustrations. Her mountain bike artwork is inspired by the local trail networks and the riding community.

Food Lifeline
will benefit greatly from your donations (and auction purchases) at the 2018 Bike and Pike Expo. In the past 7 years combined attendees helped us raise enough money for over 115,000 meals to be distributed to local area food banks. We hope to raise a record number this year.

Now, just incase you haven't heard,

we're having an Online Silent Auction;-)

100% of the money raised will be given directly to Food Lifeline.

All in all, February 24th will be a fun gathering of locally owned Seattle businesses showcasing some real (and really unique!) products and services made nearby. We're happy to be a part of the Northwest, and proud that the proceeds of this event will stay right here in the Northwest through Food Lifeline.

Come and join us for great Seattle bicycles, beer, coffee, corn dogs, and conversation for an event that will benefit all Seattle!
