We've designed and spec'd our own light weight steel fork just for use with this bike, as well as a Rodriguez custom carbon fork available as an upgrade for $295. In addition to more tire options, the Rainier™ includes more standard braze-ons than other road bikes. Mount up to 3 water bottles, a rear rack, and fenders easily.

If you're like me, and you like a classic, light weight road bike with narrow tires in the summer, but also want the option to ride up to 32's with fenders in the rainy season, this is the bike! The Rainier™, unlike so many other road bikes, gives you a wide range of rim and tire choices. lots of clearance for full fenders, fittings for a rear rack, and just about any gearing option you desire.

The Rainier is a 2 for 1 really. You get all of the performance of a standard road bike, with the ability to run a little wider if you decide to (and most people do). The hidden fender and rack mounts are there just in case you decide you want put a rack on the bike for some credit card touring. Even if you never need them, they are there...just in case.

"Why would anyone want fenders, wider tires, a rack, and a wide range of gears?" asks the bike designers for the other companies. Well, it just so happens that our customers want to ride their bikes no matter what mother nature throws at them, or what hills or mountains they encounter. They got tired of bikes that whimpered at the thought of a little rain and started cutting and customizing fenders (albeit pretty crudely) to fit their race bikes. They didn't want the weight of a full touring bike, or a heavier disc brake bike...they wanted a race bike...but with fenders, durable tires, more gearing options, and a rear rack, all a must for the weekend tourist or daily commuter (at least in Seattle).

Every Rainier™ comes with a pair of handbuilt wheels with a 3-year warranty. It's a comfortable, versatile bike that is perfect for a full day's ride and our fit is guaranteed.

Sizes: All of our bikes are offered in 20 production sizes . If you don't fit one of our production sizes, a custom size frame in any model is just $200 extra.

All Rodriguez bicycles come in your choice of 16 standard paint colors or for a few $$ extra you can choose from dozens of our snazzy colors in stock.
